Jos kerran ruokapakkauksesta täytyy huomata, onko sen sisältö kenties jossain välissä vaihdettu, niin ei ruokapakkauksia kovin hyvin voi kierrättää. Sen sijaan kompostipussi ei kai heti mädätä sisältöään, vaan kestää jonkin aikaa, on aika muovisen oloinen mutta kumminkin kuulemma maatuva. Voisiko kompostipussin tapaisista materiaaleista kehittää uudet ruokapakkausten materiaalit, jotka sitten maatuisivat? Mutta siis säilyttäisivät ruuan alunperin hyvin sen aikaa kuin ruokakin säilyy.
